6ギガのメモリーで走っている今のマックプロではGPUではR3Dファイルをスムーズに動かすのは不可能な上、ファイナルカットのタイムライン上でも動きに負担がかかっているので編集も十分に出来ない。

メモリーの値段が下がってきたので今が増設のチャンス。
4個のスラットが空いている（DIMM RiserA/DIMM 3&4・DIMM RiserB/DIMM 3&4/) 。

まず16ギガ（4ギガｘ4）を注文した。
純正だと4000ドル以上もまだするが、サードパーティは今はその半額以下になった上に性能は純正と同じかそれ以上の定評がある。

トータルで22ギガだと問題は無いはず。
32ギガは次の世代のAMDのマックプロまで待つ。

これでごっつい、映像が動かせるぞ〜〜〜〜！

アップルと英語のブログの更新がないので、たまに寄る14丁目のアップルストアーの3階からのビュー。
ファイナルカットの問題を解決をアップルと共同でやっているので、FCPのエンジニアーと会うのがこの場所。

ソーホーは昔から大嫌いで、田中長徳氏の渋谷嫌いと同じくらい、ワシはソーホー嫌いで有名なので、アップル関係の編集ソフトのファイナルカット関係の問題解決は14丁目の3階のワシ個人用の為に用意された場所で仕事を済ます。

アップルの修理は23丁目に行く。

14丁目のミートパックはオシャレになりすぎたので、全て裏街道を歩くので、ファッショナブルな人間とは一切顔を会わす事がない影の人生を送っている。

2001年までソーホーのど真ん中にもオフイスを構えていたがセプテンバー・イレブンスのあと、37丁目にもあったオフィスと共に畳んだ。
両方とも嫌なロケーションだった思い出しか残っていない。
ソーホーはうわべだけの人間だらけで田舎モンだらけ。
キモスギル。
ソーホーの本物の人間はソーホーには出て来ない。

37丁目はヘルズキッチンのそばで人間の行く所ではない。
両方とも出来れば一生行きたくないマンハッタンの地域。

iPone のソフトのVersion2になってから、ワイファイを切っていてもメールがバンバン入るようになっている。
うるさいのでメールの着信音は消した。
ミキシーなどはサインインの状態になりっぱなし。
ログアウトする必要もないのでそのまま。
ほとんどのセキュリティの問題の無いサインインが必要なサイトは全てログイン状態。そっちの方がタイプする必要もない。
日本はアメリカのATTの3Gのアイフォーンが日本でも使える事がわかったが、値段が解らない。
ちょっと調べ見よう。

今見てみると日本中で使えるが、データー通信が高い（日本で言うパケットのことだと思う）

iTune storeで曲を買う時、ベルのマークが付いているのがリングト−ンになる曲。

Albumとpriceの間にベルのマークがあるのがリングトーン。

自分で曲のイントロを選ぶとかサビの部分を使うとか自分で編集出来る。

西海岸時間の7時50分にアイフォーンの2.0のアップデートが発表された。
現在ダウンロード中。

3Gとオリジナルとの比較が始まる。

日本でアメリカのアイフォーンが使えるならば買い替えで、日本のドコモを解約する。

日本ではドコモを使っていなくても毎月3500円くらい払っているので年間で4万円。
新しい3GのAT&Tのプランでは月額120ドルなので40ドルばかし高くなる。
日本に居るときにドコモの支払いは7千円くらいになるので、トータルはほぼ同額になるはず。

TONAなども使っているので国外通話は非常に安い。

そのうち両国（相撲の国技館のある場所ではない）から使用レポートが出て来るだろう。

今のところ、今のオリジナルのシステムで満足しているので、取り替えなどと言うのはじっくりと観察して待つ。

AAPLとソフトバンクのこれからの株の動きに注目すべき。
一週間で結果がわかる。

多くのファイナルカットの講座に出席しているが、次に行くのはテックサーブの地下ではないヤツで、タイムススクエアーのホテルで行われる。
出席することにしてしまったが、今月は、そんなのばかり。

自分で映像編集するのは元も簡単なラフ編だけ。

それでも何が出来るのかは知って置かないとプロデューサーとしては失格なのだ。
DIのエクスパートでないと今からの映画業界では生きていけん。

過去8年で映画作りが90度転換したな。その前の1990年から2000年というのはまた90度転換していたので丁度20年で180度転換することになる。

2000年か、2001年か覚えてないがファイナルカットが出た最初のヴァージョン1から、今の6.0.3まで8年間も使っていることになる。

それまではアビッドで、その前はMedia 100を持っていた。
その当時、1992年頃、Media 100は8万ドルもしたので、今のレッドワンのカメラなんて安いものだ。
しかし、Media 100を買ってなぜ、アビッドを買わなかったかというと、実はセールスマンにだまされたのだ。
Media 100は2年後に売ってしまったが儲けもないかわり、損もなかったので減価償却を考えると間違っていなかった。

あのとき投資目的でノンリニアーの映像編集機器を買うか、アリフレックスの35mmのBLの中古を買うか迷った。
しかしスティディカムを買うということは頭の中になかった。

HMIのライティングとかスティディカムは値打ちが何時までも下がらない。
同じくPLマウントのレンズ。

ファイナルカットは値段も破格的に安く、良い投資だったと思う。

今2台目のMac Proにファイナルカット・スタジオ2をインストール中。

まる半日かかった。12時前から始めて終わったのが午後の6時。
これで2台のワークステーションが完成した。

週末は雨が降るらしいので、外でのレッドワン・カメラのテストシュートは来週の平日に変更するかもしれない。

FCS(Final Cut Studio 2)のFCPが6.0だったのを6.0.3まで上げた。
試しにRED ONEで撮影した映像を取り込んでみたが、3.2Kでも30インチ（2560 x 1600）のアップル・シネマディスプレイ2台使わないと見れない。
フルレズの4Kのモニターなんかあるのかい？

まだコンピューターの検証とリペアーをやっている。
27日の時点で14時間半。28日の19:28:28からずっと続けているので59時間、それにその前日の14時間半。
73時間半、修理をやっている。

昔コンピューターを直すのに、ちょうど7日間かかったのが、何故なのか思い出した。
後何時間、何日、かかるかわからないが直れば数年は持つ。

左からアップルが最初に作ったラップトップの100シリーズの最も高級機だった1991製パワーブック170、その当時5000ドルした。
日本では70万円で、盛田翁のソニーがデザインしている。

真ん中が、その当時一番小さかった1992年製パワーブックDUO-230のダッキングステーション用。DUO-230は前のヨメはんの最初のラップトップ。

右は1999年製パワーブックG3Lombardのブロンズ。全て未だに完全に動く。

これらの前に1989年に7000ドル以上したマッキントシュ・ポータブルと言うラップトップ/ノートパソコンのたぐいではないデカイヤツのがあったが今は無い。

昨日から始めたリビルドのMacのG4。
昨夜の内部のハードウェアーのマック専用のテックツールでテストランをしたが、結果は失敗。
朝4時近くなっていたので、今日は9時からまた検証を始めている。
G4時代のインターナル・ハードドライブだけでも20ギガの1996年製のものから120ギガまで、総計10数個あるのだが、完全に動かなくなっているのは一つだけであったが、立ち上げるの5分もかかるのもある。
現在のインテルのハープシコードのゼノンから考えると時代の逆行きなので、完全な無駄な時間を使っているのかもしれない。
G5、インテルと進化して行ったが、クアッドコアが完全な状態になったちょうど1年前の3月頃に、一台のパワーブックとキューブ以外のタワーは中のハードドライブを抜いて、引退してもらった。

それを今3台のG4のタワーを一台のマシーンに組み立てたわけだが中古部品ばかりの組み合わせの為、どこかに問題がある。
マザーボードもシングルチップ。
何もかも2000年以前のもので、これでは動けば良いだけのアンティック見たいなもので実戦では使えない。

検証するだけでもマル2日かかる。

エアーマックって、フリスビーって知っている？

今日、初めてユニオンスクエアーで見たが、エアーマックをフリスビーで飛ばしているの。
ソリッドステートだからショックは無いみたい。
1700ドルのハードドライブ・ヴァージョンと違う。

その倍の値段の高級品の事。

マックはまず10年先を行っていますね。

これからの全てのアップルの製品はソリッドステートのドライブになる。
2009年は全てが変わると言う。

値段は高いがソリッドステートはハードドライブのように熱を持たないので、熱くなるのはマザーボードのみ。
現在売りに出されるのは高いバージョンのみ。

信じられない事が起こっている。
再び、アップルが2年先を行ってしまった。

値段が高いのでどれだけ売れるかわからないが、これが成功するとアップルは不動の位置を獲得する事になってしまう。
まだ一般の人にはわかっていないようだ。
その上アップルはソリッドステートのドライブの事をあまり宣伝をしていない。

ただ：『オプションの64GBソリッドステートドライブ（SSD）にアップグレードすれば、さらに高度なパフォーマンスと堅牢性を実現できます。1ハードディスク容量を示す単位は1GB=10億バイトですが、実際にフォーマットされた容量はそれ以下になります。』のみになっているのは面白い。

バックアップは多いほどよい。
1テラは足りないのが本音。

Leopardに変えてからTime Machineでバックアップが非常に楽になっている。
ホームコンピューターのメインは4ベイのQuad-Core。
ブーツアップするたびにバックアップされているので働いている間にアップデイトされている。
現在まだ8-coreの購入の予定はないが次の世代のハイディフが導入されると今のメインはサブになる。
Leopardは安定している。
MacWorldが近づいてきた。
新しい Mac subnotebookが発表されるそうだ。

そうそう、アップルの株を持っているのだったら今、売ったほうがよい。
200がトップと考えた方がよい。

iPone, iPod, Leopardなど、数々のヒット商品を出しているが健康的な株価は140.00前後が相場。
今日から年末にかけて160.00台をキープすればアップルの今の活性化したキャシュフローは続くので、年末のクリスマスのセールの広告効果がでるので次の世代のMacBookと来年発売されるiPhoneの次のジェネレーションが売り物になる。

それでも69.00ちょっとで売ったわい。
今、180とか190と言うのはおかしい。

山と海が動くのかな？

Leopardに変えてから小さな不都合が目立つようになって来た。
最初はアドビーのプロダクトのアップグレード。
ファイアーフォックスのスクローラーの不都合。
アイフォーンにサファリをエンベデッドしたのでサファリの方が進化し、Leopardでは使い易くなっている。
メールのセキュリティが変わったのでかなりの数のメールがバウンスされている。

3日目ではそれくらいかな。

300の新しい仕掛けはまだわかっていない。

先日も書いたが2台以上アップルを使う人は必ず一台は10.4でおいておくべき。

Leopardに変えてからやはり使い易い。
まずインターネット環境でのサファリが速い。
OX10.4に比べると非常に見易くてすっきりとしている。
オーガナイズが非常にやり易い。
バックアップが自動的に設定出来る。
ハードドライブのベイが四つあるので一つはバックアップのディディケイドにしてある。
欠点と言えば立ち上げの時のクロスエンカウンターのようなバックドロップの醜い絵くらい。
あと、新しくアップグレードしなければ開かないソフトがある事。
家にアップル一台のみという人は問題があるかもしれないが、通常のアップル・ユーザーは家に2台以上はあるはずなので古い型のは10.4で置いておけばよい。

ウインドウズは3年に一回も開ければいいほうなので俺は完全にダンプする。
VistaとLeopardのテストは個人的にいろんな問題を抱えているコンプレックスの固まりでパワーハングリーのウォールストリート・ジャーナルのウォルト・モスバーグのアーティクルでさえも良く書かれている。
個人的にはVista全く必要なし。

日本はニューヨークよりも13時間先なのでニュージーランドの次にレオパードが手に入るはず。
しかし、アップルのインターナルクロックが世界時計にセットアップしてあるのでどこの国に行っても時間が変わらない。
26日に、日本で言う宅急便で来るはずだ。

Loepardの優れているのはフル64ビット対応。
これでまた映像編集が面白くなる。
新しい64ビットのソフトも続々と現れる。
64ビットは1960年代にRISCで確立されている。
これで一般にも使えるわけ。
実際には32ビットから64ビットに移行するのは32倍のスペースが必要なわけで、一般に普及するのにはインテルの創立者の一人、ゴードン・ムーアの法則の（18か月毎に倍増する）を当てはめると128ビットになるには32倍の48年かかる事になる。
16ビットから20ビットは1.5年の4倍＝6年
20ビットから32ビットは1.5年の12倍＝18年

これで次ぎの世代の128ビットまでかなりの時間がある。

Software: 1.1.1でiTuneが付いたのとファームウェアーのアップデート。

NEW YORK -- Apple Inc. has prepared plans to nearly double its iPhone production in the fourth quarter, financial news Web site TheStreet.com reported, citing people familiar with the company.

The plan calls for making 2.7 million iPhones next quarter, up from the 1.54 million originally targeted, the report said. Apple's plans now call for 4.8 million iPhones to be produced this year, up from the 3.6 million previously targeted, the report said.

This month, Apple said it sold its 1 millionth iPhone a few weeks ahead of schedule.

ブルーツースは便利なんだが今までのはみんなデザインが悪くて恥ずかしくて使えなかった。TREO時代に3種類も買ったがどれも好きではない。第一かっこ悪い。出た当時は何処に行っても俺だけしか使ってないのでまだ珍しがられたが過去2年間は飛行場に行くと田舎のビジネスマンのオッサンしかやっていない。イヤリングじゃあるまいし。
俺は車の運転をしないので必要は無いのだがアイフォーンのはカッコいいと思う。

久しぶりにアップルのブログの更新だな。
今更書く事も無いのだが今日からアメリカのiTuneでリングトーンがダウンロード出来るようになった。
俺はオジーオズボーンのno more tearsの一部をリングトーンにしたぞ。
日本では何時から使えるんだ？
日本のギーク連中はみんなアイフォーン持っているのに。
