It is important to set the facts straight about Democratic Senator Barack Obama.

There have been a number of e-mails circulating on the internet concerning his religious affiliations and patriotism to his country. We feel it's important to judge the man for his platforms and politics not mistruths spread on the internet.

Do check Snopes.com. Their site has been misquoted in smear e-mails. They disavow the lies in the e-mail. Whoever sent out that irresponsible e-mail was counting on the fact no one would bother to check their site.

Sadly, once you call a person something the damage has been done.

That is the reason we are asking you to forward this e-mail on to everyone you know. Whether or not you support Mr. Obama's campaign, it is important to support the truth.

THE FACTS:

- HE WAS NOT SWORN IN WITH THE KORAN. Please what idiot would do that at this time???? He is intentionally being confused with Minnesota congressman, Keith Ellison because he is African American.

- HE DOES PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG. He has led the pledge many times in the U.S. Senate. (check YouTube.com).

- "When he was a child in Indonesia, Obama spent a couple of years at a Catholic
school and another couple of years at a school that was predominantly Muslim
(because Indonesia itself is predominantly Muslim). In his 2006 book, The
Audacity of Hope, Obama elaborated on his early schooling, explaining that he
attended both Catholic and Muslim schools in Indonesia - not out of any
particular religious affiliation, but because his mother wanted him to obtain
the best education possible under the circumstances.

- No evidence supports the claim that Barack Obama is, despite his professed
Christianity, "an ideological Muslim," and those who have made this claim have
offered nothing to support it - no letters or documents in which Barack Obama
has ever stated such, no reports of conversations in which he ever admitted
such, no revelations from friends or associates that he ever demonstrated such."-Off Rumorsno.com.

I am not sure where or how these lies begin but I suspect they originate in fear.

It is our moral obligation to check the facts and spread the truth.
